2013 Stanley Cup Finals: Game 1

The Boston Bruins and the Chicago Blackhawks started last night's Game 1 about 7:20 CST at the "Madhouse on Madison" and at 11:59 CST, the game ended on Andrew Shaw's goal in the third Overtime!  It was the fifth longest game in Stanley Cup History and the exhausted players are lucky that Game 2 will not be played until Saturday night.

The Blackhawks fell behind 2-0 on a pair of goals by Milan Lucic, then 3-1 as the third period was to start.  But 2 goals in the third tied the game at 3-3 and the OT's began.  In the first OT, the Blackhawks had to kill off a Power Play when they were given a penalty for too many men on the ice.  They did and the game went to the second OT.  That came and gone and then the third OT began.  More then halfway into that one, the Blackhawks struck, when a slap shot from Michal Rozsival deflected off of Dave Bolland and then Andrew Shaw and past Tukka Rask to win Game 1 for Chicago.

It was a roller coaster of emotions, but sent the drained but jubilant Blackhawk fans home winners.
