Sharp Scores in a Shootout

The Chicago Blackhawks squandered a 2-goal lead last night to the Carolina Hurricanes and won the game in a Shootout, as Patrick Sharp scored the only goal.

SCORING:

CB: Patrick Sharp A) Michal Handzus
CB: Marian Hossa A) Brandon Saad & Andrew Shaw
CH: Alexander Semin A) Eric Staal & Tuomo Ruutu
CH: Ron Hainsey


SHOOTOUT:

The only goal scored in the Shootout was by Patrick Sharp to win it for the Blackhawks.


Cam Ward saved 34 of 36 shots and Corey Crawford stopped 32 of 34 shots.

Blackhawks defeat Sabres 2-1

The Chicago Blackhawks held off the Buffalo Sabres to notch a hard fought 2-1 victory, as both Ryan Miller and Corey Crawford stood on their collective heads to keep the score so close.

SCORING:

CB: Patrick Kane (PPG) A) Patrick Sharp & Andrew Shaw
BS: Drew Stafford A) Cody Hodgson & Mark Pysyk

Ryan Miller stopped 38 of 40 shots on the night, and Corey Crawford stopped 28 of 29.

Blackhawks 2 - Lighnting 3 in a SO

The Blackhawks took a 2-0 lead in the Second Period, but the Lightning struck back with 2 goals in the 3rd to force OT.  A scoreless OT went to a Shoot Out and Valtteri Flippula scored the only goal of the SO to win it for Tampa.

Ben Bishop was the star of this game for the Lightning, as he stopped 37 of the 39 shots he faced.  Corey Crawford, on the other hand, stopped 14 of the 16 shots he faced.
