Western Conference Championship Preview

The Chicago Blackhawks and the Los Angeles Kings will start their Western Conference Championship Showdown on Saturday June 1st at the "Madhouse on Madison" in Chicago.  This series will pit the defending Stanley Cup Champs and the reigning President's Trophy Winners, as both teams try to get back to the Finals.

The Blackhawks will have to try and answer the 64 thousand dollar question: how to score a goal on Jonathan Quick, who has been nothing short of spectacular so far in the first two rounds of the playoffs.      His counterpart, Corey Crawford, has had some trouble so far, he gave up 4 goals twice to the Red Wings, but when the chips were down, be came through in the clutch.

Can the gritty Kings repeat as Champs?  Can the high flying offense of the Blackhawks return to regular season form?  Can Quick be scored upon?  Can Jonathan Toews, aka Captain Serious, keep himself under control for an entire series? (remember what the Red Wings did to him).  Will this series go 7 or will someone win it early?

These and many more questions will begin to be answered on Saturday evening about 5:00 EST as the Kings and the Blackhawks take to the ice for Game 1.

It will make for some riveting hockey/

My pick:  Blackhawks to go to the Stanley Cup Finals.
